Contrary to popular belief, generally established by the media and the aethiests, December 25th isn’t just a day where you get a present whether you’ve been good. Nowadays, being an absolute monster gets you rewarded.

Sheesh, this winter in Denver is odd. We get a cold day or two, with a couple inches of fresh dry powder, then a small warm-up, and then back to the cold. Today being no exception. And the nighttime, well, we’ll just say it’s colder than a witch’s _________ (insert favorite body part here). Ah, well, Phoenix won’t be so bad, but then the griping will be it’s too damned HOT!!!

As I sit here staring out the window of my son’s room at the house across the street, I finally take notice of the Christmas decorations:  the lights, the wreath above the garage door, the reindeer and Santa Claus in the yard, and the candy.  They had put them up some weeks back, probably the weekend after Thanksgiving, but I never really noticed.
